It looks like the settings you list are what Camtasia recommends for creating a CD, which I would think would be fine for our processor (but apparently aren’t). We’ll have to do some work on our end to see if there’s anything we can do to better accommodate lessons created in this format. With that said, I think the right short-term solution for you is to have me pull down your uploaded file from the servers into Camtasia on this end. I’ll re-produce it in a different format. If you have additional lessons that you’ve already published in this same format from Camtasia, let me know. I can do the same on those so it doesn’t waste your time, but I’ll likely get you to upload them to a secure drop-box for us (such that we don’t even attempt to get the media processor involved). It’s handled by YouSendit and located at: https://dropbox.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=dropbox&dropbox=ChelseaReneau1266596&secure=1
For subsequent lessons you make in Camtasia Studio, I’m going to get you to tweak your settings. Once you’re finished editing your lesson in Camtasia Studio and are ready to export it, how about we configure the settings like this:
1. Click on the File tab and then ‘Produce Video As’.
2. Given that the project was created with certain dimensions (which are likely the size of whatever portion of the screen you’ve captured), I’d select ‘Custom Production Settings’ from the drop down menu. (blog, HD, web, screencast.com, youtube, ipod/iphone will also work, but if I were you, I’d likely want to go custom to make sure I maintain whatever resolution/size settings I’ve been editing in). Once you pick Custom Production Settings, you’ll hit next.
3. Here, you can leave the file format selection on the recommended one: MP4/SWF. (WMV and MOV and M4V will also work fine). After you select MP4/SWF, you’ll hit next.
4. On the next page, you want to click the button for flash options, which will give you the choice between MP4 and SWF. Make sure MP4 is checked as SWF files aren’t accepted by the processor.
5. Hit next a few more times until you get to the page where you can specify where you want the output file saved.
6. Hit finish and be done. It will take a few minutes to render the lesson then.
Let me know if this doesn’t work for you! Looking forward to checking out your lesson!
