Everything you wanted to know about personal trainers but were afraid to ask. Urban Fitness TV walks us through the basics: How to source them? What can trainers can do for you? How do you know if you have the right one? And most important…How much better can they make you look? Picking a personal trainer is a difficult thing to do – you need to find one that you can relate to and one that knows what he/she is doing. In this lesson, Paolo Silverio talks about how to go about finding a good personal trainer. Certifications aren’t necessarily what you’re looking for. There are bad trainers who are certified. Instead, you have to be in the gym to observe how different personal trainers interact with and work with their clients. That said, it’s important to remember that trainers work differently with different people depending on what their goals are (e.g. professional athletes versus folks trying to lose or gain weight). Personal trainer Ryan Shanahan touches on how training may vary across people. Later in the video, Ryan also highlights what kinds of things you need to watch for when observing and further encourages you to ask questions of potential trainers (and their trainees). Additionally, how personal training costs vary and what the benefits are to having a trainer are discussed in this lesson.

Fox) and most recently, I got the opportunity to serve as both host and executive producer of Urban Fitness TV on the Fit TV channel. After working with an extensive list of high performance athletes, high fashion models and actors who have little time to work out, but still have to look as if they live at the gym, I created the ‘focus touch’ visualization technique that can boost the effectiveness of any exercise. This technique is part of the Body Noble Method, which is a safe,...
