Skateboarder, Lindsay Westfall, talks about life as a female skateboarder. Currently, ~8 percent of all skateboarders are female. Most of these skater girls skate in California. As a representative of this hip, young community, Lindsay talks a bit about what it means to be a female skater.

The skateboard fashion business has tripled over the past five years, reaching 170 million dollars in annual sales. This business is made up of everything from shoes and clothes to purchases of the right board. As this segment of the market continues to grow, the skater fashion and apparel businesses are starting to launch lines specifically for them.
