Tropical Home Aquarium - Low Hassle Approach Pt.2

Kentcummins rated 5 out of 5 Tropical Home Aquarium Pt.2 06/09/2007 ~ kentcummins

This is the first MindBites lesson that I watched (other than my own!), and I found it thoroughly interesting and understandable. The professor seemed sincere and knowledgeable, and it was just as though I were visiting his home and we were talking about his hobby...sort of my vision for the MindBites concept.

His explanation for the need for a larger tank was completely convincing, and new information for me.

I liked the "In This Lesson" graphic at the front, as well as the subtitles throughout...although I would have liked to see captions for unfamiliar words such as "cyclids" and "chlorimines" (which I may well have misspelled). Also, the description on the home page doesn't exactly match the titles on the video itself.

I do like it better when he is looking at the camera than when we get the side view...another thing I noticed on my own Magic 101 lesson.

And I think it would benefit from a final closing statement. But even though I have not seen "Pt.1," I found "Pt.2" completely useful on its own. (Although you might consider spelling out "Part...)

Matt rated 5 out of 5 Really great! 05/07/2007 ~ matt

This picks up where the first lesson left off and has a lot of practical tips for picking a tank and preparing the environment appropriately for fish. This includes information about water pH and various kinds of equipment, enough that I feel like I could go into a pet store and make some quasi-educated decisions.

Prof. Haney keeps up the focus on keeping things simple and easy to maintain and does a great job explaining how the choices he has made make keeping fish easy for him (and hopefully us too).
