Who says hockey is just for boys? The Women’s Hockey League is fast gaining popularity. So we decided to slap on the skates, hit the ice to meet the stars, join them in practice and cheer them on as they slap shot their way to victory.
Jacqueline Cherevaty, a professional hockey player for the Mississauga Ice Bears, talks to us about several aspects of being a female hockey player. Hockey is the fastest growing womens sport in North America.
Hockey is great for both the aerobic and anaerobic systems. Additionally, it is both an upper and lower body workout. Hockey is played by women in 26 countries, including Kazakhstan! A great video to get the basics on women that play hockey.
