In this lesson, Derek Duke Noble checks out the rhythmic workout of rowing. He talks to competitive rowers about what to expect, how to get started, how to improve, what kind of workout rowing offers, etc. Rowing is a largely cardiovascular workout, though muscles definitely offer an advantage. Water is calmest in the morning, so rowers are generally out on it early in the morning for their workouts.
The biggest challenge for rowers is to maintain technique and form and focus while pushing oneself at a very high level. There are two types of rowing. In sweeping, each rower has one oar. When skulling, each rower has two oars.
Derek Duke Noble (www.bodynoble.com), the host and creator of Urban Fitness TV (www.urbanfitnesstv.com), is a world-renowned celebrity lifestyle and fitness guru.
