Derek Noble meets Brent Nixon, a Vancouver hiking guide, to learn the basics of hiking. You can burn 450 calories per hour on a moderate hike, making it a great form of exercise, as well as a way to connect with nature. Brent shows Derek the gear that is needed for hiking. He recommends clothes for Derek, suggesting that he layer and stick with synthetics as opposed to cotton, which can absorb more than ten times its weight in water. Brent also discusses the ten essentials you should carry with you-items for weather changes, potential emergencies, food and water, and a map and compass. On their hike, Brent instructs Derek on the mechanics of hiking, best methods for stepping, and the use of a walking stick.
Derek Duke Noble (www.bodynoble.com), the host and creator of Urban Fitness TV (www.urbanfitnesstv.com), is a world-renowned celebrity lifestyle and fitness guru.

This technique is part of the Body Noble Method, which is a safe,...
