Jessie, from Workouts on Demand, takes you through an express Pilates mat workout. This workout routine is for abdominal strength and lower back flexibility, and takes less than ten minutes.
You will start with the Pilates scoop in a small motion, just rounding the lower back. This movement will get progressively larger, rolling back onto the mat and then back up, until you are rolling all the way down, one vertebrae at a time. Then you will bring your knees to your chest and roll like a ball back into a sitting position. This will progress into rolling all the way down and then curling back up, almost like a sit up. The express exercise will end with the Cat & Cow stretch, where you arch and then dip your back from a position on your hands and knees, and then a final Shell stretch.
