In this lesson, Jessie from Workouts on Demand takes you through an express ab workout. This workout takes less than ten minutes, and focuses on core stability, ab strength, and lower back strength.
You will begin with a basic crunch, making sure to keep your fingers spread out and elbows wide, to prevent from pulling on your neck. Then Jessie will have you pulse the crunches. Next, you will pull your knees up while in a crunch position and reach your legs out, holding them together. In the same crunch position, you will scissor your legs, alternating lowering and lifting them.
Next, Jessie takes you through a series of oblique exercises, including side punches from a crunch position, oblique crunches and oblique crunches with your legs (also known as a bicycle crunch).
The final set of ab exercises involves leaning back, forcing you to tighten up your core muscles. There are two exercises, one that is a simple up and down motion and one that uses your arms, requiring additional stability. Jessie will have you cool down with the cat and cow stretch and the shell stretch.
