In this lesson you will learn an intricate sequence of moves that will keep you and your partner busy for days! The Walkaround with Reverse Copa includes a fun variation of the cross-Body lead inside turn with an outside cross-body lead for the follower. This is followed by a reverse copa and a behind the back lead that will keep the guys looking sharp on the dance floor. Finally, the move ends with a cool variation of the free spin for the follower. This is definitely a crowd pleaser!
Level: Intermediate to Advanced
This lesson includes demonstrations in the two most popular Salsa dance styles: On1 (aka "L.A. Style") and On2 (aka "New York Style").
A word about Salsa Dance Styles
---------------------------------------------
L.A. style (On1) and New York style (On2) are two of the most popular Salsa dance styles around the world. In the L.A style, the leader breaks forward with his left foot on the first beat of the measure while the follower breaks back with her right foot. In the New York style, the follower breaks forward with her left foot on the second beat of the measure while the leader breaks back with his right foot.
Once you feel comfortable dancing on one of these styles, you can easily translate your Salsa repertoire to the other style by following the "Timing Conversion Table" included as supplemental material with this video.
