Helped me gather my bearings in iMovie. 07/14/2007

I just switched over to an Apple laptop, which comes with several programs, including iMovie. I've played with it a few times, but this pointed out a few features I overlooked. This lesson is a good jumping-off point for those interested in making their movies a little more polished.

If you don't know anything about iMovie this is the perfect lesson for you. It takes you through what to do with easy to understand instructions. It teaches you the basics with how to start using iMovie. I like that Jeanne highlights (literally) certain points that she is talking about. It makes it easy to see where to find them on your own project. She also zooms in to different areas on iMovie, drawing your attention to the exact location. Good basic lesson, I look forward to the next one.

I really am glad I watched this video on iMovie. I used the application before but got fed up with it and left it for good. Jeanne has re-introduced me to a better way of editing within the program. Now I no longer have issues with iMovie, especially since I know how to use the trim tool! And it's so much fun playing with the video effect generators!
Production Notes: It looks as though sometimes the video skips but the audio is ok. Is there an option in the screen capture program to take continuous footage instead of every 5 frames?
Thanks for the knowledge!

Very clear and useful instruction for basic, no-frills video. Packed full of good information. I viewed this and I don't even have a Macintosh!
8 Minute Jam Packed iMovie Tutorial! 06/13/2007

Hate tutorials that take too long to cover what you want to learn? Well, Jeanne is your woman. In this lesson she jam packs a lot of to the point information into a lean 8 minutes. She covers all you need to know though to get familiar with the iMovie interface, how to import footage from your camera, edit it, add titles and effects, and export. Very nicely done pointing out a lot of the details you might miss if you teach yourself. One piece of advice though, when you're watching the playback, keep your mouse over the pause button. Because if you zone out for a second, Jeanne is on to the next topic! So, want to learn iMovie? All you need is 8 minutes with Jeanne.
