In this video tutorial TutVid demonstrates how to create realistic fire and flames coming out of a 3D box in Illustrator. Key highlights include how to do the following:
• create a new layer
• choose between different brushes
• practice with artistic brushes
• use trial and error to find a brush that resembles fire
• use multiple brushes to create a realistic fire effect
• use masks to change the color of the fire
• add blend modes to change the effect of a layer
• embed an object between other layers to hide it
The tutorial focuses on the difference between blend modes, benefits of using masks, and unlimited uses of brushes.
