Ripples are a fun, intermediate level tap move. In order for ripples to happen for you, you must have very relaxed ankles. Once you get them in your body, though, you'll never forget them! A great challenge for the beginning student, definitely a step to work towards mastering.
This lesson is from Season 1 of a Tap Dance Made Easy video podclass created and hosted by highly-regarded tap instructor, Eli Newsom. Eli releases two new podclass episodes (roughly 30 minutes each) each month to his subscriber base. Eli also has a series of instructional Tap Dancing DVDs. Thanks, Eli. This was a huge help. I'm not yet a master of Ripples, but I think my ankles are starting to cooperate better and better. Fantastic lesson!
