Want to learn how to use Photoshop? This lesson teaches you all the basics to get you started. We'll talk about drawing tools, working with layers, manipulating photos and adding text.

About me (the teacher): I have my BA in studio art, and my MFA in film. I've taught work shops in photoshop at the UT film department.

This video is easy to follow and has nice pacing. All the basics are covered without going too deep. I've taken expensive beginner Photoshop classes that assume you already understand layers. Jeanne starts at the beginning with a brand new workspace. You could install the software the first time and immediately create a drawing or edit a photo. Nice job. Please do intermediate and advanced courses as well!

Jeanne gives a great overview of Photoshop in this lesson. She does a great job of giving a good overview of what is a very deep tool. Covering drawing, the concept of layers, dealing with photographs and adding text, this overview will give you a base from which to start playing and learning on your own. My only complaint is that the resolution of the video could be slightly higher. It is definitely usable as it, but being a software tutorial that most users will likely view at full screen, it gets a little grainy. Don't let that stop you though. Great lesson for a great program!
