This lesson is part of the series: Fundamentals of Photographic Light
This lesson starts with a brief review of exposure, aperture, and shutter speeds. You will learn how to use a light meter in conjunction with your own personal expertise and experience, and Brian will also cover how the measuring process is actually calculated.
There is an in depth explanation of the different types of stand alone and integrated light meters. Measuring studio and ambient light are covered as well as using different types of meters in conjunction with each other.
When someone decides to get truly serious about the study of photography, they begin to study light. This lesson is excerpted from the DVD Learn Photographic Light, Film & Digital, which is an excellent resource for those looking to learn the fundamentals of light as it pertains to photography. This is the third segment cut from the DVD and includes chapters 6 and 7 (covering the measurement of light and a review of exposure).
