This lesson is part of the series: Fundamentals of Photographic Light
This lesson covers studio lighting and the different options a photographer has when setting up a studio shoot. The different principals of studio lighting are covered and explained how they relate to the unique challenges a studio environment provides. Key lights, fill lights, and hair lights are all covered with strategies and advice on position and usage.
When someone decides to get truly serious about the study of photography, they begin to study light. This lesson is excerpted from the DVD Learn Photographic Light, Film & Digital, which is an excellent resource for those looking to learn the fundamentals of light as it pertains to photography. This is the first segment cut from the DVD and includes chapters 12 and 13 (covering studio light and light essence).

- Great advice about studio lighting!

Studio lighting is really difficult to learn without professional advice. It is not as intuitive as outdoor shooting and there are lot of tools and techniques to learn when shooting indoors. In this lesson you learn all about the different kinds of lights, the way to arrange each light, and how to shoot great portraits in a studio. Great lesson!
