In this final part of her Creative Writing series, Michelle Stimson discusses editing, agents, and publishing. Michelle discusses her personal experiences working with an editor, an agent and a publishing house, and lessons she has learned. She will teach you about the editing process and what to expect in terms of deadlines and how a manuscript is edited. She will also discuss different ways to go about publishing, such as working with an agent, directly with the publisher, or self-publishing. You will also learn from her experiences with contracts.

Michelle Stimpson is an author, a speaker, and an educator who received her Bachelor of Science degree from Jarvis Christian College in 1994. She earned a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2002. She has had the pleasure of teaching elementary, middle, and high school as well as training adults.
In addition to her work in the field of education, Michelle ministers through writing and public speaking. This video is excellent! My mother tried to publish a book last year and got no traction, so I am going to recommend that she watch this and maybe contact an agent. I love that in this video Michelle is so real, and provides you with her own experiences so that you go into the process with realistic expectations about working with an editor, and agent, and a publisher.
