The Taskbar includes everything to the right of your Start orb. This includes the Quick Launch toolbar, your open applications section and the notification area (a.k.a. the System Tray).
To alter Taskbar properties you right-click the Taskbar and select Properties. Then you can work with the following tabs:

* Taskbar
* Start Menu
* Notification Area
* Toolbars
