While the overall interface is similar to Windows Vista, the Start orb gets a minor graphics enhancement and you'll note certain features have changed.
For example, the Window Sidebar is gone, but we show you how Windows Gadgets are still available. In addition, the Welcome Center doesn't greet you upon login but you can use the Getting Started applet to locate important items you once found at the Welcome Center.
In addition, you'll note that Live Essentials, an optional download for Windows 7, carries some familiar parts of the OS (like Mail, Calendar, Movie Maker and Photo Gallery) that are no longer installed by default.
