How To Play Texas Hold'em

Texas Hold'em has become a very popular version of poker in the last few years, and the game of choice in many tournaments. These guys will give you a run down on the basics of the game, defining terms that are specific to Hold'em (flop, turn, river, blind), as well as general poker terms (pocket, kicker, dealer). They will also discuss the hierarchy of winning hands in any poker game, and play through a round of Hold'em, which has a unique order of play. Join Glenn, Matt and Andy, as they introduce you to the intricacies of Texas Hold'em, dispensing tidbits of hints and pointers along the way.

Know the Lingo

I really liked that this lesson defined a lot of the lingo used in Texas Hold 'Em, I otherwise wouldn't have known. It was a good walk through of the game and even a little strategy. They did a great job showing what the hierarchy of hands is too.

This is a good primer that will help you feel more comfortable when you decide to play. Better to watch this video and do a little homework beforehand as "lessons" in poker are expensive to learn!

This by far is the best poker video I have ever seen. Very informative. It is OFF the Charts!

There were only a few bits of constructive criticism that came to mind:

Ellen- music in the background while Glen was talking was distracting. I loved the music when Glen was paused and there was text on the screen- that was very effective

Andy- He thought some of the effects were a little too professional and could be discouraging to a amateur film maker.
