You have used the built-in Powerpoint themes a hundred times and so have all your friends. Its' time to look into creating your own template design to give your presentation and authentic and original feel.

In this video, we are going to talk about 3 ways to customize the look of your Powerpoint presentations.

First, use the Slide Master feature to create a unique template.

I went to istock.com and found a few images that would be great for a new template. In Slide Master view, I can insert one of these images into the background, then also add my own custom images, colors and designs. In this one, I am adding a corkboard background, with a little post it in different places on the masters. I have also changed the font and font colors.

You can also insert your own image as a slide background to each slide. This technique will allow you to use a unique image for each slide and add text over it.

Finally, you can find other peoples handmade Powerpoint templates on the web from the Microsoft Powerpoint website or just by Googling "powerpoint template".
