Three different techniques with chalk pastels: traditional blending and crosshatching, painting with the pastels using rubbing alcohol and 600 grit sandpaper, and using the color grays to establish values and contrast.

Polly delivers a very good video on 3 pastel techniques. I've been using pastels for a while but learned several new details and techniques I did not know before! :-) She is also a good presenter and does not waste time getting to the point. I would recommend this video! A very good value as well.

I think that Polly is such a fine artist and an outstanding teacher.
It is our loss in Austin that she decided to move out of state. I am so happy that I am able to continue with her lessons online.
She makes any type of painting fun and educational.

Polly is the best art teacher I have ever had. I have been taking classes with her for the past 6 months and I really love her technical approach. She covers three completely different ways to draw, color, and paint with pastels in this lesson. Well worth it!
