This tutorial is for Mac, PC, and Linux users. I use a Mac, but the program (Express Scribe) you'll need is available for all platforms for FREE!
This tutorial would be useful for anyone interested in audio transcription.
In this tutorial (after the 1 minute intro), I show useful settings to make the audio step back automatically while typing your transcripts. Also shown is how to export your audio from iMovie-- note: you don't need iMovie to transcribe your video.
(FYI: With some experimentation, you could figure this out on your own.)

I'm interested in vlogging, and thus I could change my UsrName multiple times as well as replace old videos with updates or upgrades. Heh.
I had a very specific idea about a site like MindBites, and now, the biggest part is filling it with useful and interesting videos. Grassroots instruction! My goal is to make and encourage new videos and new users!

I was looking for something like this to transcribe my videos on MindBites but I couldn't find anything for free. Audio transcription tools are hard to find for free online. I'm glad to see that there's an easy way to make transcripts from my videos without having to shell out the cash.
(See attached PDF for full transcript! Note: Original transcript doesn't match updated video. I will be fixing this soon, but the full transcript is simply longer than the original, so it's still useful for this video!)

OK. So, the first thing that I’m going to do is show you how to export your audio using iMovie.
...
Now, I’m going to show you how to set up Express Scribe for transcription. The first thing I’ll show you is just how to get your audio into Express Scribe.
...
Now, I’m going to show you how to set up preferences to make transcription really easy.
...
A couple more points about Express Scribe are that there are Special Audio Processes that you can do.
...
OK. Now, you’re ready to transcribe!
