Ray Helm knows his guns, and rightfully so, as he's been a Texas Peace officer for some time now. And with Texas being the gun toting capital of the western world, he's at the top of list of experienced handlers. In this lesson, he takes you through a cursory explanation into pistol cleaning and maintenance.

Good basic instructions for someone newbie. Wish the video was more crisp / clearer.

This lesson is about cleaning a pistol, but the title frame at the beginning says 'How to clean a rifle'?

Like his other videos, Ray does a good job walking you through how to do a basic cleaning on a pistol. He is very methodical and clear every step of the way as to what he is doing and why. My only suggestion on how it could be improved is that it seems like half the battle (pun intended) with cleaning a pistol is getting it apart and back together again. I felt like he could have explained this process a little more slowly and maybe some better closeups with the camera may have made it clearer as well. But, that being said, seeing him do it is way better than trying to follow along in some booklet! Great job Ray and co!

Pistol Cleaning brush?

I didn't see where a brush was used, only cleaning patches. I've read that you should only pass these through the breech end of the gun...is it okay to pull them back through or should you pull the brush and rod through the muzzle end instead of pulling it back through the breech?
