First Samples opened its doors in January of 2005. It was created in response to the interest people were showing to learn how to sew apparel and the lack of places to learn at. It's main goal is to nurture and propagate the art and craft of garment construction. We live every day from the day we are born to the day we die wearing sewn products. We have become so removed from our clothes that most of us have trouble sewing a button on. Our sewing is all outsourced. First Samples wants to bring it back home.

Great video, Shauna is great at explaining it in detail. Only thing I would have rather watched the process on another pair of jeans that were not white, it's pretty hard to see even the close ups.

Instead of spending a lot of money on new jeans, or a lot of time finding jeans that fit AND are the cut you like, Shauna shows you how to alter the legs of your jeans yourself. Like Shauna's other lessons, this one is thorough, discussing not only the main points, but also the details that will make your clothing perfect and the pitfalls to avoid. A bit of an advanced lesson.
