This 4 minute video will take you through the process of making a video using your Flip Camera from the setup stage to exporting the final project. I have found that there is a lot of confusion surrounding the Flip when it comes to editing, so this tutorial will alleviate some of the mix-ups. This tutorial shows the process for Windows Movie Maker, although the process is almost exactly the same for all editing programs for both Mac and PC.

I am an RTF undergrad at UT with emphasis on editing. I have made several shorts and am beginning on the preliminary steps towards beginning pre-pro on my first feature. You can check out my website to see some of my work. Also, if you have questions about editing on PC I am your man.
To provide a little more creativity to this otherwise banal profile, I will include a limerick with a Haikou integrated into it.

This is like filmmaking 101. There are a lot of simple commonsense suggestions to help make good video great. You’d think the flip camera would supply this kind of advice. For instance, Dereck suggests not using the flip editing software because you can get a better result from imovie or moviemaker. This lesson saved me a ton of time by my not having to figure these simple shortcuts out over a period of months through trial, error and frustration. Here, I learned it in less than five minutes.

Very informative. I like Derek's way of teaching a lot. His lesson plans are very tight and professional. He doesn't give you too much filler conversation and he's on top of his knowledge of the subject. He's good at getting straight to the point and teaching exactly what the viewer needs to know.
