This lesson is part of the following series:
Algebra 2 (12 Lessons) (12 lessons, $32.67)
Advanced Algebra (5 Lessons) (5 lessons, $19.80)
This 83 minute algebra 2 lesson teaches how to solve radical equations (equations where the variable appears in the radicand, for example: the square root of (x+12)= 3 that results in a linear equation, or the square root of (x+4) + 8 = x, that result in a quadratic equation.
This lesson will teach you how to solve radical equations involving:
 square root with one radical
 cube root with one radical
square root with two radicals, for example: square root (3x+1) + square root (x1) = 6
You will also learn to:
 isolate the radical
 square both sides
 simplify
 solve the equation
 check for extraneous roots
 write the real roots
This lesson contains explanations of the concepts and 18 example questions with step by step solutions plus 5 interactive review questions with solutions.
