It's becoming fairly common in these modern times that if you have a baby, you probably also possess a slew of baby information books. As an overly informed parent, you may often feel deluged with facts and tips about child rearing from people who claim to understand your kids much better than you do. This lesson attempts to steer away from that mentality, providing a simple method of child care without all the malarky present in typical baby instructionals.
Swaddling is an age-old practice of wrapping infants snugly in swaddling cloths, blankets or similar cloth so that movement of the limbs is tightly restricted. It was commonly believed that this was essential for the infants to get a proper posture.
In this lesson, Ellen, a mother and baby swaddling expert, takes you through the steps and philosophy of this somewhat unknown practice.

I am a first time grandma and did not have a clue about baby swaddling because that wasn't done when my kids were babies.
This has helped me get the picture in my head so I can do it correctly.Julia

I wish this video was available when my daughter was young. After coming home from the hospital I realized I didn't know how to swaddle my baby. I tried to look in books but they are hard to understand by looking at pictures alone. I love that your video gives a number of different options because all babies are different and will like different styles of swaddles. I will keep this for my next baby! Good job. :)

And informative to boot! Now, I'm not a mom, so I don't know much about taking care of babies, but this seemed like a very useful video for anyone who may be expecting, or new to parenting. In fact, Daddies, sisters, brothers, Grandparents, babysitters, or anyone who is taking care of a baby would benefit from the instructions in this video.
The most interesting part of the lesson for me was the information about the benefits of swaddling a baby. I thought it was done just to keep the baby warm, but now I see that it's much more important than that. Swaddling a baby is an essential and basic skill that can save a care-taker unnecessary headaches when trying to manage a little one.
In terms of production, this video is very simple and to the point. The audio and video are both captured adequately and the purpose is served. I'd prefer to meet the instructor at some point in the video just to have a face to go along with the voice, but it isn't necessary and the little guy is entertaining enough, so it works.
Best of all, I like the baby!
