In the religion known as Santeria, La Regla Ocha or La Regla Lukumi, many of our prayers our done in song form. One important aspect of the religion is the reverence of our ancestors, called Eggun. We sing to Eggun because of the belief that we are who we are because we stand on the shoulders of those that came before us.

This is a beautiful gift whom Olofi has blessed you with. To use such a gift and share it with the world is the most humble and unselfish act of love for our religion. A teacher to teach all of us the language in song is a breakthrough for Ocha, that will bring many to the esteda...

I was under the impression that I would be able to hear the songs being sung. Unfortunately all I was able to see are the words. It's not allowing me to hear the music.

After so many CD's purchased and lip syncing at ceremonies because I dont really know the words, I feel so blessed to finally have A WAY to learn that which I love so much. While I know my heart was lifted to the Orishas before now I feel so empowered to actually be able to sing the right lyrics. His teaching, voice, and style are fantastic. The only way it could be better is if Damian Padro included a translation...!!

Damian,

Thank you so much! This is a perfect way of learning the cantos and actually pronuncing the words correctly. Thank you so much!! I will definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to learn the "canto"!

Damian has done a terrific job of teaching basic eggun songs. Sweet personality. Production a little on the funky side, hence 4 stars.

I'm Oba Ilari Aladokun, author of "Ancestor Paths" and I really like the lesson. I would definitely refer this video to others. It was a great find. So many struggle to understand the songs within the ATR.
