Understanding how to read a written word problem and how to arrive at the solution is a crucial skill to master. In order to do this, students must not only understand how to perform the required math functions correctly, they must also be able to read the problem and understand which math functions are required to arrive at the solution. The program focuses on building skills with word problems that require the addition of whole numbers in order to arrive at the solution. Emphasis is placed on teaching students how to identify the clues the problem will present in order to know when to add whole numbers to arrive at the answer.
