Wave Optics
(Part B):

24-5: Single Slit Interference (at 0:10)
Light from a 633 nm laser pointer shines through a single slit of width .25 mm and strikes a screen 1.75 m away. Determine the location of the 1st dark band and the width of the central maximum.

24-6: Thin Film Interference (at 4:34)
A thin film of oil (n = 1.50) rests on a puddle of water (n = 1.33) in a parking lot. Determine the minimum thickness of the oil at a point where the reflected light appears blue (λ = 475 nm).

24-7: Thin Film Interference (II) (at 13:57)
A thin coating (n = 1.38) is used to minimize reflection off of a glass lens
(n = 1.52). Determine the 2 lowest thickness values that could be used to minimize reflection of green light of wavelength 510 nm (approximately the middle of the visible spectrum.)
